Inspired by the bent fins on the back of an old air conditioner, Strata explores the disruptive effect an organic form has on a linear structure. A series of shallow stones are pressed into standard heat sinks, leaving a contrast between the smooth and striated space.

Each stone acts as a tool and is pressed into the heatsink with a standard vice. This often leaves marks on the stone as both are affected by the process.
